Beautiful figure / bowl of mermaid with fish. The figurine is created by the Icelandic artist Gudmundur Einarsson (Guðmundur frá Miðdal) in his pottery Listvinahúsið (meaning Art House) and signed with his signature with three mountain tops which can be seen on one of the pictures as well as “Island” (for Iceland). 1930s-1940s.
Glazed in beautiful earth tones as well as tones of red.

Accordig to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guðmundur_frá_Miðdal) Guðmundur studied art in Iceland 1911-13 and 1916, in Copenhagen 1919-20 and in Munich, Germany in 1920-25. His fields of study and performance include graphics, oil painting, sculptures and ceramics. He was a pioneer of etchings and ceramics in Iceland.
